Where Dandelions Grow

Drama/Comedy

A smartass, teenage girl fights to protect her siblings and survive as her meth-addicted mother spirals into chaos, forcing her to grow up in a world of drugs, violence, and broken promises.

Based on the true events of my friend's life in the 90s, this is the story of Lexi, a 14-year-old punk rocker with an attitude.

Her mother, Terri, is a meth addict, and Lexi, her three younger siblings, and their stepdad, when he’s not in jail all live in a beat-up Chevy van, bouncing from place to place depending on where Terri can score her next fix.

They finally get a home of their own and Lexi dreams of a normal life, finding brief escapes through her friendships. But the chaos always returns.

Moments of pure bliss, like losing her virginity to the boy she loves while tripping on acid, mixed with the harsh reality of having to beg neighbors for food when her mother disappears on a four-day bender, leaving her kids with no money and nothing to eat.

Her mother’s erratic behavior, Uncle Dale’s twisted lessons in hustling and violence, and the constant cycle of neglect push Lexi into a whirlwind of drugs, rebellion, and heartbreak.

It’s a powerful coming-of-age story about survival, resilience, and the fierce love between a daughter and her troubled mother

Magda and Her Pursuit of Creativity

Drama/Comedy

When her mother dies, a disillusioned artist must find inspiration to change her life’s story before it gets misrepresented by a tenacious and intrusive reporter.

Magda is a disillusioned artist who hasn’t created anything in 20 years. Her life is a blur of failed attempts at art, fleeting relationships, and bitterness. When her mother, Masha—who was also her manager—suddenly dies, Magda is left with nothing but debts, a remote cabin, and an unfinished story of her own life.
Just as she hits rock bottom, Sally, a tenacious magazine reporter, shows up with a mission: to write a feature on Magda with or without her cooperation. Desperate for creative inspiration and closure, Magda retreats to her mother’s cabin, hoping to find a spark to reignite her career. Instead, she uncovers secrets about her mother’s life in the village, growing closer to an old rock star named Mike and a punk band led by the magnetic Dante.
But as she spirals into extreme routines of indulgence and recklessness to overcome her creative blocks, Magda pushes everyone around her away. Her relationship with Dante complicates, her old flame Bernard’s heart breaks, and Sally looms in the background, ready to capture Magda’s downward spiral for the world to see. â€‹

Magda and her pursuit of creativity is a dark comedy that delves into the complexities of identity,
creativity, and the chaotic, imperfect journey toward self-discovery. It’s a raw and witty exploration of one woman’s battle with creative block, personal demons, and the struggle to rewrite her own narrative.
